Support ServicesInaccordance with the recommendations made by the Health Service RestructuringCommission, renovations will be undertaken at both the Saint-Vincent Hospital(SVH) and the Élisabeth Bruyère Health Centre (ÉBHC)over the next several years. The cost of the renovations is estimated at$28 million, with the majority of the work being planned for SVH. Overall,the project will result
in substantial quality of life improvements for patients, residents, andtheir families.

Key objectives for the renovation project are closely linked with theneeds of the various patient care programs themselves, that is to:

  • maximize privacy for patients and family;
  • enable and encourage patient independence;
  • offer patients a wide choice of activities, unrestricted
    by space limitations;
  • provide a comfortable and safe environment.

hôtels BerneAt both SVH and ÉBHC, plans are to provide an even more patient-and family-focused environment. Considerably less renovation is requiredat the ÉBHC than at the SVH due to more recent changes and upgradingat this facility. At the SVH:

  • major renovations will be carried out in the C and D wings and throughout most of the A wing (Levels 2, 3, and 4);
  • each room on these wings will feature a window for each patient, adjoining accessible washrooms, and space for visiting family and friends;
  • hotels Albufeirathe B wing (and other areas) will be altered to improve the use and organization of space;
  • many of the patient rooms will become one-bed rooms (108 of 348, or 31%);
  • dining and family spaces will be added on each nursing unit;
  • physiotherapy and meeting spaces will be added on each floor;
  • pensione a Liepaja , countryall the other therapy and activity areas used by the patients will be dispersed to the various levels, allowing for much better accessibility;
  • new construction will link the ends of the B and D wings, thus improving staff efficiency while providing much-needed additional space for increased patient comfort;
  • two new elevators will be added;
  • Oslo accommodationair quality will be significantly improved with the addition of a hospital-wide air handling system to effectively control temperature and humidity;
  • medical gas will be extended to all patient care areas;
  • building fire and safety systems will be upgraded to comply with current building codes;
  • hoteles en Cardiffoutside grounds will be further developed for patient and family enjoyment.
